I bought "Flight Simulator X Deluxe" at Xmas-time, didn't try to install
until now, don't have the store receipt, and it turns out that disc 2 is
defective. Therefore, I can't fully install the program, and the brick wall
of MS support always requires a product ID that is found by running the
program. How am I going to get this product installed? Can I just download
the contents of disc 2 from somewhere, and then use the produt key that I
already paid for? Is there any way to get through to microsoft support
without the product ID? Am I hosed? What can you suggest?

i think this post belongs in 'microsoft.public.soap', and not in
'microsoft.public.xml.soap'

because it sounds like a soap, but has nothing to do with xml...
